Mileage Reimbursement Calculator

Miles driven x the IRS standard mileage rate for the year you select.

The IRS updates its standard mileage rate every year, and quietly using last year's number throws your total off. Pick the year, enter the miles you drove, and you'll get your reimbursement with the exact rate shown right next to it, so you can see what the figure was worked out on.

Frequently asked questions

What mileage rate does this calculator use?

The IRS standard mileage rate for the year you select, never a hardcoded or outdated number. The rate and year are always shown next to your result.

What if I pick a year with no published rate?

It falls back to the latest year we have data for and shows a notice saying so. It never quietly substitutes the wrong year's rate.

Does this cover actual vehicle expenses instead of the standard rate?

No. This tool applies the IRS standard mileage rate (miles x rate). If your employer reimburses actual expenses (gas, maintenance, depreciation) instead, this calculator doesn't model that method.

Reimbursement = miles × the IRS standard mileage rate for the selected year. Not tax advice.
