Smart tools for your paycheck
Whether you're an employee, an employer, or just planning ahead, every calculator here runs on the same verified tax data.
Why is my take-home pay less than my gross pay?
Your gross pay never tells the whole story. What lands in your account is what's left after federal withholding, Social Security, Medicare, and your state's income tax. These free calculators do that math for you: enter your pay, pick your state, and see your real take-home pay.
Which calculator covers overtime, tips, or a bonus?
Working overtime, earning tips, or just got a bonus? There's a dedicated tool for each, all built on the same 2026 tax data. Run the numbers, print a pay stub, or check what an employee really costs an employer. You don't need an account for any of it.
How these calculators work
Federal income tax withholding follows the IRS Pub 15-T percentage method: your pay period wages are annualized, the standard-deduction adjustment for your filing status is applied, then the year's tax brackets set the withholding. FICA adds 6.2% Social Security (up to the annual wage base) and 1.45% Medicare, plus an extra 0.9% Medicare on wages above $200,000. Where your state taxes income, its rules join the same calculation.
What's included in the 2026 rates
Every tax table here is year-versioned data for all 50 states + DC, verified against published IRS and state examples before it ships — never a hardcoded guess.
No tax on overtime and tips (OBBBA)
Through tax year 2028, the OBBBA deduction removes federal income tax on qualifying overtime pay and tips. No tax on overtime calculator and no tax on tips calculator estimate the federal deduction on qualifying overtime pay and tips.
Do you store my paycheck data?
No. Calculations run when you submit the form and nothing is kept afterward. If you create a free account you can save up to two paychecks to revisit later — saved paychecks live in your account and you can delete them anytime.
